Q. Are there any special conditions relating to my siting a lodge at Parmontley
Hall?
A. Conditions of the planning permission mean that you are required to use your lodge as a holiday home rather than as your main residence. We are required to keep a register of main residence addresses and you must inform us of any changes.
Q. How long is the season at Parmontley Hall?
A Parmontley Hall enjoys an 11½ month season, which currently runs from March 1st- February 14th.
Q. How long do I have the right to keep a lodge on my pitch at Parmontley Hall?
A. Subject to the conditions of your Licence Agreement, and of the site rules, you may keep your lodge on Parmontley Hall for 35 years. After that, an extension may be possible depending on the condition of your lodge.
Q. Is Council Tax payable?
A. Council Tax is not payable on your lodge at Parmontley Hall.
Q. Can I rent out my lodge on Parmontley Hall
A. It is not currently possible to rent out your lodge at Parmontley Hall.
Q. How much do the lodges cost?
A. Prices vary, depending on the size, model and other specifications of the lodge you choose and the pitch chosen. As an illustration, as a special introductory price for Phase One of the development, a 38’ x 20’ Pinelog Skyline, sited with skirting and verandah and all carpets, furnishings and curtains included would cost c. £99,500.
Q. Is it possible to ‘reserve’ a pitch?
A. Yes. A ‘pitch option’ can be taken out. A fee of £2500 will hold an option on a specific pitch to allow you 6 months to decide on the details of the model you wish to purchase. If an order is not placed within this period, the option expires and the fee is forfeited.
Please note pitch options can only be taken out for the current phase of the Development.
Please note the pitch option fee is not refundable under any circumstances. It will be deducted from the balance owing on completion of your purchase of your lodge.
Q. What are the site fees?
A. Site fees for 2011 will be in the region of £2000 + VAT
Q. What is included in site fees and what is extra?
A. The site fees include the provision of a full-time warden who lives on site, maintenance and landscaping of all common areas, rates, water charges, the maintenance of drains and the sewage system and other utilities, security (including electronic gates and CCTV), membership of the Clubhouse on Low Haber Caravan Park, and storage of your lodge while the Park is closed.
Please note gas and electric are extra and metered.
Q. What are the arrangements for car parking at Parmontley Hall?
A. There are two ‘green’ car parking bays alongside each lodge. There is also a visitor’s car park near the entrance to the park.
Q. Where are the nearest shops?
A. There is a village shop in Whitfield, with further shops including a Co-Op, chemist, post office and bank in Allendale, four miles away. A larger range of shops, including Tescos and Waitrose can be found in Hexham. There are health centres with doctors in Allendale (4 miles) and Haydon Bridge (7 miles). The nearest hospital is in Hexham (14 miles).
Q. Where is the nearest Pub?
A. The Clubhouse on Low Haber Caravan Park has a License, but does not sell food.
The nearest pub is the Elks Head in Whitfield, c 1 1/2 miles away which is owned by the Whitfield Estate. It has recentley been extended and now has 2 dining rooms and 10 B & B rooms. It is a busy popular palce to eat for locals as well as visitors from further afield.
